Did you know that Ethiopia is one of the only countries in the world where leprosy is still active?

We were in Ethiopia in September, and were so touched by the work the of Ethiopian Catholic Church Medhen Social Center (ECC-MSC). They provide integrated community rehabilitation to the disadvantaged, such as leprosy and HIV AIDs victims, orphans, the poor and the disabled. What’s amazing is that they run programmes that don’t just meet the needs of the victims of the illnesses, but also ensure that they contribute back to the community once they are fully rehabilitated.

Last year, our proceeds bought cookers for the women in prison in Zambia who are now able to learn to bake and cook and leave prison with more skills and a higher chance of employment. Why not support the efforts to help the Ethiopian communities regain their dignity, and realize their potentials this year?
